На отдаленный островок, на котором расположено всего одно небольшое поселение, переселяется писатель со своей дочерью и маленьким сыном. В первый же день пребывания в новом доме их знакомят с необычными «правилами поведения». Самое важное из них гласит, что нельзя выходить на улицу после того, как услышишь ночью вой сирены. Вскоре девушка замечает странности в поведении местных жителей и постепенно раскрывает жуткую тайну проклятого острова, но укрыться от звука сводящей с ума сирены уже невозможно.
