Basilio is a phenomenal person, a poor bastard with a lot of heart. But no one realizes it. Belittled by his wife, humiliated by his coworkers, and unappreciated by his dog-walker, Basi decides to leave it all behind and push up daisies. While he is trying to kill himself, Irene, a party girl, arrives. She takes Basi for a ride and gets him a job with Méndez, a tough guy with a strange occupation. Vera, a twelve-year-old girl, comes into Basi’s story unannounced and asks him to help her with a life-or-death matter – and let’s face it, Basilio’s not exactly up to the task. The hours pass and Basi treks through his blessed city, becoming more and more involved with his new friends and their flamboyant causes, while the noise only gets louder....
