A five-part adaptation of Charles Exbrayat's crime novel "Les Dames du Creusot," published in 1966. Hordain is a complete wreck. A journalist for "L'Eveil," a Lyon daily newspaper, he has turned to alcohol after the death of his wife and son in a car accident. No one trusts him anymore, except for Denise, the editor's secretary. Thanks to her, he is sent to Châlons to cover the trial of a Creusot driver who killed a child.
