Early summer in Hokkaido's Nekushi Plains. Ogata, a scientist dispatched to a research institute there, encounters a 14-year-old girl named Maya in a forest shrouded in mist. This chance meeting leads the two to gradually grow closer. But one day, as summer vacation draws to a close, Ogata's lover, Yuki, comes to visit.
