Bloem loves seagulls. She studies them by the sea with her grandfather Pieter, who scours the beach for plastic. Not to throw away, but to eat, because he's a plastic-addicted person, just like the rest of the world. He enjoys plastic soup and crunchy polypropylene. During their day out, it turns out that this waste, transformed into food, threatens not only the lives of the seagulls but also that of his grandfather Pieter. A bleak vision of the future: one in which humans only eat plastic and the animals die from it.
