La maison des bois (mini)

1917; Hervé, a young boy of about ten, lives with the Picard family, who also care for two other boys, Michel and Bébert. Albert Picard is the Marquis's gamekeeper, and his wife, Jeanne, raises not only the three boys but also her two children, Marcel, who will soon have his conscription medical examination, and Marguerite, who helps her mother with the housework. Sometimes on Sundays, Michel and Bébert's mothers come to visit. Hervé's mother hasn't been in touch for several months, and Jeanne spoils him a little. Hervé is quite happy in this family, and the war is just an excuse for their children's games.
