Set at the end of the XIX century the film tells a story of a young boy attending school in Cracow under Austrian administration. Since he comes from the provinces, he boards with a stern and merciless landlady. In the school there is an authoritarian Austrian teacher who demands discipline above all else. The students slowly rebel against the teacher. Eventually a good hearted teacher takes pity on the boys when things worsen and the bad teacher is dismissed. - IMDb
