An unusual and charming love story of a brash crime reporter and a young widow with two children. In a true Mills and Boon tradition, it starts out by them antagonizing and disliking each other. He proves her deceased husband to be a corrupt, bribe taking engineer-nullifying her efforts to prove exactly the opposite, which is true as it happens. However, his inherent honesty is soon apparent to her and an uneasy truce does reign, helped by the bond her daughter has developed with him.
