Aftermath

Six months after a nuclear explosion destroys New Orleans a family must fight for survival. Don and his children now live on a houseboat deep in the swamps of the Deep South. With food running low, and gas running out Don, the father of Shaun and Isabel, must find a way to feed his children. One day he goes out on a final hunt for fuel. While he is out he runs across a place guarded and ran by Will, a man with a brutal means of survival. He offers everyone he sees a chance to kill for him and scavenge in order to get food. Will finds Don and offers him the deal, but Don, thinking of his children, cannot do it. He flees and thinks he escapes unseen, but someone followed him. That night Don uses the fuel to power a television and DVD player for his daughter. They watch a movie and go to bed. The next morning Will arrives out in the swamp. He found Don. Will tells Don to hand over everything he has. Don then shoots a gas can, igniting a fireball that knocks Will and his henchmen down. Don then shoots them all. Realizing that more of Will's men will come he decides to flee with his children and search for food somewhere else. They walk for days and run out of food. They pass out. When Don wakes he sees that they are at a village of survivors. They are friendly and nursed Don and his kids back to health and fed them.
