Two girls explore their friendship and the joy of a juicy mandarin in the dry Australian landscape. Mandarin Peel explores memories and dreams of childhood. Two young friends draw upon the landscape, making their mark, sharing, bonding and touching the natural and unnatural in their midst. The film explores the innocence of childhood, instinctual reactions, kinship of the young, sensations and tactile environments - sticky hands, dirty nails, mud made out of spit and dry dust and the fascinating innards of flies.
