A slightly uneven but still engaging children's story that would be appreciated by adults as well, this "boy and his shark" tale is set on a Polynesian island when the modern world was still held at bay and little Ti-Koyo (Denis Pouira) was close enough to nature to make friends with a baby shark. The two become companions in the water until they are separated, grow up, and meet again many years later. At that time Ti-Koyo the man (Al Kauwe) has fallen in love with his childhood friend Diane (Marlene Among), and life is different on the island. "Civilization" and its attendant problems are encroaching on the traditional ways of living and there comes a day when Ti-Koyo, Diane, and the shark too -- have to decide if it would not be better to take off for a more rustic and isolated spot.
