Sante

Bianca is twelve years old when she is chosen to play the angel at the town festival, a symbol of purity and grace. As she prepares to take flight, her encounter with Ginevra cracks the surface of her childhood and opens a fissure through which a new and destabilizing desire seeps. In a suspended time and space, the film traverses the imperceptible yet radical transition between imposed purity and bodily awareness, between childhood and adulthood. A coming-of-age tale for women that interrogates, through a hagiographic and apocryphal aesthetic, the symbolic construction of grace and the inherited burden of guilt.
