The film opens with the overview of a street of a town on a cloudy day. The reason for this footage is without explanation until a few seconds later when the cameraman catches his prey: a teenage girl, to which the camera follows down the street. After the first minute or so, the meaning of this footage is revealed: the cameraman is trying to capture as much as the girl as they possibly can, by filming her with a video camera while taking pictures of her and seeming obsessively uploading them to Instagram. In the film, YOU are the stalker, following around a random girl for a few hours or so. Stalk Her, as its core, is a representation of how the evolution of social media has made private lives a myth. People in this day and age carelessly upload tidbits of their life to the internet for all to see.
