Notes This Welsh language film was based on the 1961 novel of the same name (translated into English in 1995 as "One Moonlit Night") by Welsh novelist and poet Caradog Prichard (1904-1980). The novel is considered by some to be the finest Welsh language novel ever written. |

In a small Welsh town, a boy (Tudor Roberts) lives alone with his unstable mother, who is determined to see him enter the clergy some day. But her insistence on this issue is a source of tension between her and her son. As the boy's protests grow more violent, the mother's sanity deteriorates, leading to tragedy. Years later, the son, now a grown man, returns to the town where he was raised in order to confront his dark past. |
