Sombre and at times rather disturbing, this was not an easy film to watch. It took an age to get going and for some while it`s gloomy, somewhat menaci approach was rather unappealing. By the end proceedings were a little more engaging-the interesting use of a pumpkin for example and the parachute cord swing. The boy towards the end did once smile, but this vision of post-disaster renewal wasn`t especially rewarding. Rating: 6/10 |
