Das Lächeln der Tiefseefische

Seventeen-year-old Malte, going through puberty, lives with his alcoholic father on the German-Polish island of Usedom. He works at a fish stall and smuggles cigarettes on the side. When his sister unexpectedly returns to the island with her son, Malte is confronted with memories he can't cope with. He abruptly leaves his family home and moves in with a friend on the island, where he meets the young and attractive Annika, who is also vacationing on Usedom.
