"Mit sechzehn bin ich weg" tells the story of fifteen-year-old Jenny, who, after her parents' separation, is facing a new beginning. She has just moved to a new city with her mother and her little brother, Moritz.
Before all the moving boxes are unpacked, Jenny already has to face her next challenge: her first day at her new school. At first, it seems as if the day, which began with resentment, could become a promising start to a better life – until the past brutally catches up with Jenny and her family.
